Gregory Matarrese co-founded the Empire Mock Trial Association, Inc. in 2007. He is a practicing lawyer in both New York and New Jersey, and a graduate of the St. John’s University School of Law.
Greg has operated his own general civil practice since 1988, specializing in personal injury, real estate, wills and estates, business formation and general civil litigation.
He became involved with legal education while his son, Justin, was a student at Tottenville High School. Since 2002, he has served as the team’s attorney advisor, providing students with insight on the legal profession.
The heart and soul of the organization, Greg has been instrumental to the operation of both the Empire and Downtown mock trial tournaments. Greg does everything from serving food and bagging garbage to judging rounds and dealing with courthouse personnel. He is an EMTA fan favorite.
