Amar Patel

Director of Alumni Relations

As a two-time Empire participant, Amar knows first hand the benefits of an EMTA event. Amar joined the EMTA staff soon after high school. Since 2008, he has helped offer students the same unforgettable experience that he once had. From organizing the database of judges, to reaching out to former Empire alumni, there is no task too big or small for Amar.

Amar is currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a B.S. in Information Science with a specialty in Computer Networking & Security.  His orderly, systems-based mode of thinking is the perfect complement to Justin’s visionary outlook. Like many at EMTA, Amar is an alumnus of the Tottenville High School mock trial program.  During his sophomore year, his team won the New York City Championship and finished second in the state.  In 2009, he returned with his fellow Pirates to win both the New York City and State Championships.  A master of Indian accents and self-deprecating humor, Amar has continued his mock trial dominance in college, earning an All-Regional Witness award in 2010.

“Empire was one of the hardest competitions I’ve ever competed in… it definitely helped me prepare for state and I learned a lot of great things…”"
